OPEN LETTER TO STUDENTS

Were you at the Grand Opening of the Student Lounge?
Kudos to CHRONICLE staff on one of the newest creative successes at IAIA! As noted in the March 2003 issue of THE CHRONICLE, Irene Edwards and I conducted a short, interactive planning session with students at the grand opening of the student lounge. Lifelong Learning Center Needs Info from Student Planning Participants

Because of the excellent data/information that students provided that evening, we'd like to credit your work. This is a request for each of those students to let us know your name and the cultural area chosen for small group work that evening. The cultural areas were East; Plains; Southwest; and West. If you participated in that LLC Student Planning Session, would you please email the requested information to me at gshunatona@iaiancad.org ?

Request for Participation by Other Student Groups

If you weren't at the student lounge for that LLC Student Planning Session, we would like to be invited to work with other student groups or clubs.
Likewise, via email, we'd welcome your answers to the Planning Questions below. [To provide background information that will help you answer the questions, you can review the online LLC News sent last month or request another copy from gshunatona@iaiancad.org.]

Questions to answer as your input to LLC planning:
1. Name a Native artist, writer, performer or other Native person that you admire.
2. What would you like to do with that person if s/he visited our campus?
3. What would you like non-Native people to learn about us (Native people, our art, history and cultures, etc.)?
4. How would you like the LLC to benefit you?
Please visit us in the Healing Circle Building behind Student Life.

Gwen Shunatona
Director of Planning and Coordination
Lifelong Learning Center

Corrections to “Native Circle Seeks to Improve Retention”:

Frances Bannowsky’s last name was misspelled. Bannowsky’s office, which houses other Native Circle personnel, is located within the Native Circle main office in the academic building; Jane Oliver's office, the counseling center, is in the portable building as reported, but it is not the Native Circle main office.
